A New Birthdaycard

Today I've taken a break from the confirmationcards, and made this girly birthdaycard instead. I really enjoyed going back to Magnolias, soft, cute colours, glitter and sparkle. (I'll show the confirmationcards some other day).
I found the sketch I've used at CLP , and the inspiration picture at Sketchy Colors immidiately made me think of the greenish Magnoliapaper I've had around for "ages" - it took me some time to find it, but I knew it would have to be somewhere in my paperstack, and after a little digging I foud it :)
A few weeks ago I bought a little handheld sewingmachine (Singer), and today I thought I'd give it a try.
A short try was enough! After two straight seams I realized I needed a lot of practise before I can use it for cardmaking, so I had to pull out the big machine to finish it.
I've used punches (Martha Stewart) and dies (Magnolia Doohickeys and MarianneDesign), flowers,
a keycharm, pearlstrings, halfbeads, twine, cheesecloth, LiquidPearls, glimmermist and lots of glitterstickles.
Oh, and all paperedges are distressed (DistressInk WalnutStain).
The image (Magnolia) is coloured with ProMarkers (and a little glitter on Tildas dress and hairbows).
The card will be entered into the following challenges:
CLP - Sketch
Sketchy Colors - Mint, Pink & White
Stampin' for the Weekend - Sparkle and Shine
MSL - Stitching
Totally Tilda - Stitching

I hope you'll have a little patience with my dark pictures. We still have dark nights up north where I live, and I really wanted to finish this blogpost tonight, as I'll be away 'till late tomorrow night.

Thanks for taking the time to visit my blog, I appreciate all visits and comments.

It's the first Free Standing Card I've made - funny, and not difficult at all. 'Though I think I'll keep the Standing" part of the next ones more flat...
I found the tutorial for it in StampARTics blog.

It folds together completely flat - cool, or what :D

April Christmascards

Aprils challenge over at Hjertebodens Juleblogg is "Tealightcard".
I have made three different cards, all with room for tealights.
This first one, that opens up like a book, I made in blue and white.
The designpapers are from Maja design. The image is from Magnolia, coloured with ProMarkers. The fur on Tildas coat is made with crushed velvet flock.
The stamped texts on the tag inside are from North Star Stamps and Kort&Godt.
I used some Magnolia Doohickeys and Martha Stewart punches and of course some glitter and bling. ...and some cheesecloth. All edges are brushed over with DistressInk WalnutStain.

Here's the card opened:
...and a close-up of Tilda:

My second tealightcard is made like the first kind of tealightcards I learnt to make. The paper here, I believe, is Poppydesign. Image is, as usual ;) from Magnolia, and coloured with ProMarkers (I'm really into a Magnolia-period, I know...)
The swirlstamp is from Panduro, and the round textstamp, saying "God Jul" I think is from Kort&Godt.
On the edges I used Holiday Vintage Ink from Ranger Industries.
The card has a pocket on the frontside with a "pull-out"-tag where there's place for a greeting:

My third tealightproject in April is a giftbox containing tealights and napkins.
I found the idea to this kind of giftbox in Mariannes papirverden. That woman must have magic fingers! And what a creativity! She makes the most wonderful things with papers! If you haven't visited her blog, you really should do it. And check out her tutorials...
Again I've used my Magnoliaimages, coloured with ProMarkers.
The designpaper is from Papirdesign
Here the box is opened. I've used a Spellbinders-die to make the sprigs, and a Magnolia doohickey tag that one Tilda is sitting on. Inside the tag I've stamped a little christmasgreeting.
and, at last a little closer view of the images:

Criss Cross Card

I have tried a new "paper" I bought at TreL in Bodø a while ago. It's called Digi-Decal Rub-Ons, and is meant to print your own Rub-ons onto, the instuction inside the pack also said you could "Draw, Doodle, Rubber Stamp (...)", so I had to try that - and noticed that the stampimages were "mirrored" - COOL, what???
Cool, maybe, but very difficult to colour, at least with ProMarkers, as the Rub-On left a very, very shiny surface over the image. But I sooo wanted to make a card with the same image used "two ways", that I used an entire evening to colour the image - LOL
(I hope I haven't broken any rules stamping to this kind of paper to mirror the image. If I have, I hope someone will let me know, so I don't do it again...)
To make the inlaycard I used the sketch from Sketch Saturday. For that I used the ordinary stamped Tilda, but coloured her in the same colours as the other one.
I've made Criss Cross Cards once or twice before, but this kind of card never seem to come to my mind in everyday cardmaking, so the challenge from TOMIC was a perfect reminder of these cards - I like cards where there's plenty of space to decorate :)

The next picture show the inside of the criss cross and the backside of the inlaycard:

Here's the inlaycard is put halfway into the criss cross card:

Materials I used to make the card:
Cardstock: Bazzill
DPs: Magnolia
Digi-Decal Rub-Ons from Design Originals
Stamps: Images Magnolia, Text Kort&Godt, Swirls Inkadinkado
Ink: Adirondack Earthtones Espresso, Versacolor Onyx Black, DistressInk Walnut Stain
Colouring: Pro- and FlexMarkers
Dies: Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Circles Large, Fancy Tags, Nellie's Multi Frames MFD 020
Martha Stewart edge punch
makingmemories tiny alphas
Laces, Doliy, Cheesecloth, LiquidPearls White Opal, Stickles Diamond, Gelpens in different metallic colours, Glimmermist Iridescent Gold

Here's the challenges I'll enter the card into:
TOMIC - Criss Cross Card + Princes and Princesses
Just Magnolia - Lovely Lace
Sketch Saturday - Sketch
Stamptacular Sunday - Freebie Week

I hope you've liked the card, thanks a lot for visiting

Monochromatic Violet Birthdaycard

Here's a card I made today - well, not entirely; I coloured the image some days ago.
When I woke up this morning I felt really inspired, I found Simply Magnolias Sketch, cut all pieces and found the punches, dies, ribbons, mist, charms, beads - everything I'd need to make it, before I went to work at 0630 (am).
Now, in the evening I've done all the fun stuff, distressing, punching, decorating and glueing - and this is how it turned out; an easelshaped birthdaycard in violetshades :)

The next picture shows the card opened, standing up:
Here it's completely opened, to show where I put the stamped greeting:
Before I show the close-up of Tilda, I'll write the list of materials I used to make the card:
Cardstock: Bazzill
DPs: Papirdesign ("Mormors hage" and "Solveig")
Stamps: Image Magnolia, Text Norsk Stempelblad AS

Have a Magical Birthday

I'm back again - well, actually I haven't been away. I've just changed PC, and had some difficulties finding an easy enough programme to get pictures from the camera into the computer. Now everything seems to be in place, and hopefully I'll manage it without too much trouble - just need some practising...

Of course I haven't used all my time by the PC, I've done some cardmaking too :D
Tonight I'll show you a birthdaycard I made with some of my newest Magnoliastamps
- I love, love, love these cuties!!!
I had decided which papers to use, and coloured the images, but didn't quite know how to put the card together before I saw Sketchy Colors latest sketch. With that everything fell in place - just had the cutting and distressing (and of course the decorating) to do :)

As always I try to keep the inside "Clean and Simple", with place to write a greeting:
I used the sketch to make the backside too :)
...a little closer view of the coloured images:
Materials:
Cardstock: Bazzill
DPs: Magnolia (7 different, I think it was...)
